Yellow Fluorescent UV S
UV-fluorescent inks are invisible to human eye under a normal source of light. To become visible for human eye they must be exposed to an UltraViolet (UV) source of light. The fluorescence intensity of this ink is standard. The fluorescence of this ink offers the usual intensity of the market.
General Information
UV-fluorescent inks are invisible to human eye under a normal source of light. To become visible for human eye they must be exposed to an UltraViolet (UV) source of light.
Fluorescent inks are aimed to make forgery or duplication of documents more difficult.
Security Inks also has inks visible under normal light that, when exposed to an UV light, show a strong fluorescence, in a broad range of Pantone colours. Therefore we can speak of security Invisible Fluorescent inks, but also of inks having both features: they are Visible or Coloured and Fluorescent.
Main colours are yellow, red, green and blue.
A special case in this kind of inks is the dual-wavelength fluorescent ink.
Applications
This kind of inks is usually intended for medium and low security documents, but they are also used as a supplement to other measures in high security documents.
Dual-wavelength fluorescent inks, as explained above, are normally used in documents requiring a higher level of protection.
Application Features
Media: The use of media free from optical whiteners is recommended.
Printing Systems
UV FLUORESCENT INK is available in the following printing systems:
- Water Base and UV flexographic
- UV and conventional screen
- UV and conventional offset
- UV and conventional letterpress
Resistance Properties
Pigments used in this kind of inks have a limited resistance to light, but they can also be prepared using pigments with higher resistance.
Other Printing Advice
Handling and storage
- Avoid direct exposure to sunlight and heat.
- Store the ink between 15-35C (60-90F)
- Closed packages, if duly stored as above, have an estimated shelf life of 2 years for conventional drying inks and 1 year for UV curing inks.
